The Making of a Copa Doll:
Copa is the art of making beautiful hand-crafted dolls with the use of cotton and papier-mache, using a needle as the primary tool.
Eco-Friendly:
This doll is totally made out of eco-friendly material, such as cotton wool, cotton cloth, papier-mache etc.
Face:
Every face is given shape by using papier-mache as the basic material. These are then hand-painted and made-up in great detail in order to bring out the authentic expression and appearance.
Body:
Every part of the body is prepared individually by hand. First is created the cotton sleeve which is filled with cotton and reinforced with wire, and each finger is separated to bring about a realistic impact.
Dress and Jewelry:
This is the most exclusive feature of Copa Dolls. A separate design of the dress and jewelry for each individual doll is prepared. The designers chosen are well versed with Indian tradition, culture and history. This is amply reflected in the splendid costumes and ornaments of these dolls.

This is absolutley one of my Favorite Barbies.I own over 200 of them and she is by far one of the most beautiful Mattel has done.I also love reading and watching Discovery and TLC when ever they have anything on about Ancient Egypt.I have her standing with my Ken and Barbie that I remade into Mummies. They look great together.

Fortunately, this doll is as durable as she is beautiful. No need to exclude younger Barbie enthusiasts from playing with this beautiful doll. They will glean some facts about Ancient Egyptian customs, and although I am not sure of the authenticity of her costuming and makeup, she is truly stunning.

This Barbie is splendid. She looks intelligent, cool, beautiful, graceful, and self-assured... her costuming is awesome, her braids are exquisite, and OMG her MAKEUP is fantastic and historically accurate. Moreover, the back of the box details her cosmetic routine, even explaining what the ancient Egyptians made their make up out of... a great way to introduce a kid to the ancient and magical ritual of cosmetics, as something beyond just being something that Mom and big sister might (or might not) do. I only have one little girl relative, and I got this for her- and made sure I got one for myself, too. If you get one of these for a young girl who is liable to wreck it, I recommend getting a spare one to give her when she is older, so she can appreciate the beauty of it. But I think one of these would be a good influence on a little girl- she has such cool makeup compared to most off-the-shelf Barbies, and her hair is beautiful.

A Beautiful Ge Ge (Qing Era Princess), March 16, 2002

The word "Ge Ge" was used to address a princess in the Qing Dynasty. This princess almost resembles a real Ge Ge. This doll has lovely face paint, and she has such a sweet smile! She even comes with pedestal shoes. Only Manchurian women and women in the palace wear such shoes. Her qipao (her gown) has lovely golden locus and dragon patterns on it. She wears a headdress with lovely pink flowers and a golden phoenix. The only thing Mattel should've added were two red long tassles, one on each side of the headdress where the flowers are. I've heard that according to Qing Dynasty dress codes, a princess has those on her headdress, and she also wears a white scarf around her neck so that people (servants, soldiers, etc) can tell that she is related to the Emperor. (Maids also wear similar headresses, but with one tassle). Nevertheless, this doll is still very beautiful. Mattel has done a much better job with this doll than it is has with other DOTW (Dolls of the World) oriental dolls.

This is going to upset a lot of people, but I'm still an American - here's my humble opinion: Haven't you collectors (people who drive up the price of dolls to small fortunes) ever seen Toy Story?! Toys are not meant to be displayed, but rather played with. Hence the category TOYs. "Here's a doll, sweetheart, but you musn't touch - and for gosh-sakes, don't handle the box!" If we are affluent enough to be able to afford dolls for our kids, then by all means, take them out of the box and let a kid play with it. In explanation; I was appalled at the exorbitant prices last year on ebay for simple, used black baby dolls. I was just trying to fill a box of toys for a small African village - little did I know I was entering a *Collector arena*... Not one of those used doll babies was reasonably priced. I knew enough, of course, not to even approach the black Barbies... This Asian Barbie will be a fine TOY. OK, I'm done. Durable and Beautiful!

We purchased this Barbie for all of our daughters. The dress is magnificent, she even has a beautiful celtic pin. We have never collected Barbies but this one is for anyone of Irish descent, who does Irish Step Dancing or simply enjoys collecting Barbies from around the world. If you haven't bought a Barbie, this is the one to start with.

I have put this Barbie in on my "magic" display. Everyone tells me how beautiful she looks along side of everything. So, I recommend Princess of Ireland for anyone who wants to any magic or celtic display to have a little something extra.
